Karla Erovick, Emerging Artist!

I never considered myself to be an artist. Creative, yes, but not an artist. My grandmother, great-uncle, and my mother all have a gift for painting. Somehow I knew that IF I ever learned to paint, I might be good at it too. I hoped it might run in our genes.

For years, I procrastinated bringing my dream of painting to life. And then one-day a few years ago I met a painting teacher that I resonated with. I wanted to see if I really possessed any painting ability AND if might be something I would enjoy.

From the moment I held a paintbrush and learned some basic techniques, I knew that this was something that I wanted to include in my life.

I paint for the joy of it, not to please anyone other than me. As an emerging artist, as my mentor likes to say, I am developing a style of my own. I am happiest when I am painting landscapes - vineyards, farms, trees, and flowers. My mentor suggested I call my genre “Wine Country Folk Art.”

Living in Oregon Wine Country there is beauty everywhere. I am inspired by the scenery I enjoy on a daily basis.
