Don’t let this stop you from posting to Instagram!

Is having a perfectly curated Instagram Feed keeping you from posting?

We all want to have an Instagram feed that looks beautiful and attracts our customers. But is this holding you back from actually posting to Instagram?

It’s natural to want to do things perfectly right from the start. What I have learned though, is that creating a visual style that communicated the look, feel and vibe of your brand can take time. Your brand and business evolves over time and so too will your visual style.

Where to start? Think about what you want to convey through your post. Maybe you want to position yourself or your brand as an expert. Think about what image can help you do that, whether it is a professional photo, stock image, or something you took with your iPhone. There are some great filters and apps that can transform your iPhone photo into something more eye-catching.

Don’t stop there. Also think about what description you can write that will convey that message in words. It doesn’t have to be a micro-blog, a few sentences can be just as effective. Especially when written with your ideal customer in mind.

Pretty + meaningful content. The best posts are ones that combine relevant content with images that convey your message and are geared toward what your customer will find interesting or helpful. That comes from understanding WHO your customer is and what THEY care about.

Be authentic. Not every post needs to have an Instagram-worthy picture. Most businesses will create rapport just as effectively with authentic images that speak to your brand. Even wineries can communicate an approachable vibe by sharing customer photos, vineyard shots, and cellar activities,  rather than the perfect bottle shot in every post.

Don’t rely only on an Instagram-worthy image. You also need to pay attention to writing a description that adds value to your post and your audience will find helpful.
